Toni Sharp Statement for RBHOA/CAMP Rehoboth  Forum July 27

Why consider Toni Sharp for City Commissioner?

Because Toni Sharp wants to see Rehoboth Beach move from “Good to Better”.

Who is Toni Sharp and where did she come from?

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas to a family who valued no-nonsense straight talk, self-reliance and a deep sense of neighborhood community.

I began visiting and renting year round in the Nation’s Summer Capitol, Rehoboth Beach, in 1996 and by 1999 decided to buy my own dirt and build my home in the Schoolvue area close to the Elementary School and Silver Lake. I worked very hard during the past decade to retire and become a full-time resident in May 2011. I spent my private sector career working for the Blue Cross Blue Shield system in Dallas, Texas and Washington, D.C. where I held executive positions serving Federal Employees.

There are three reasons why I decided to throw my hat in the ring for City Commissioner.

  • I’m proactive.   I will anticipate challenges; I will offer and implement solutions.
  • I’m productive. I have a proven track record for getting things done.
  • I’m protective. I am dedicated to the preservation of our unique character and environment.

If elected I intend to focus on:

  • Implementation and enforcement of the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).
  • Development of effective relationships and a shared, forward thinking vision with the Community and the Commissioners.
  • Creation of a long term financial plan with critical milestones and deliverables.

I have watched the work of the Commission and the Mayor who have brought Rehoboth Beach to a good, solid community with opportunities to be even better. All we have to do is look around and we can see the challenges we face. Long term solutions will require the experience and unique qualifications that I possess including a positive attitude coupled with the energy and enthusiasm to do the work you expect with a sense of urgency and accountability.

Together we can use our CDP blueprint to protect and preserve what we love about Rehoboth Beach. Let’s do it together and move Rehoboth from “Good to Better”!
